Listening and responding to Others
I learned about Chapter 6 that is listening and responding
to others. First, the Listening Process deals with mindful. Mindfulness is
focusing on what is happening in the moment. Physically Receiving Communication
is about hearing sounds, interpreting nonverbal behaviors and read lips.
Second, Obstacles to Effective Listening is about situation obstacles. For
example, we have interaction, if you want to listen effectively, reduce
environmental distractions. It’s considerate to turn off notifications for
e-mail, text, and other applications and to lower the volume on music if
someone wants to talk with you. Develop Skills for Informational and Critical
Listening has the steps. The first step in listening is being mindful. Control
obstacles can minimize distractions. For example, you might shut a window to
block out traffic noises or adjust a thermostat so that the room’s temperature
is comfortable. Ask Questions can help you understanding that you can ask
speakers to clarify their messages.
